What we’re doing:

Aluminum Recycling:

• In 1970 we opened our recycling center.  Since 1996, we have recycled over 3 million pounds of aluminum

Internal Recycling:

• We conduct an in-house shrink wrap and plastic recycling program.
• We've developed plans to reduce our waste by up to 80%.  We recycle just about everything we can through our partner Eagle Enterprises of Galva, IL

Efforts to conserve energy:

• Since 2006, our fleet of 27 trucks run on a bio-diesel fuel blend
• All other company vehicles are fueled with an ethanol blend
• We have recently completed our new warehouse and office lighting initiative.  All warehouse and office lighting is now energy efficient florescent replacing metal halide lighting and older florescent fixtures. 
• Heating:  G&M replaced its warehouse gas heaters with a radiant coray vac system

Future Projects:

• Automated routing software - Target December, 2008
• Alternative energy sourcing - Target December, 2009
