Harvick's No. 29 Budweiser Chevrolet to Feature New Look for the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Season
Kevin Harvick unveiled the 2013 No. 29 Budweiser Chevrolet SS paint scheme recently in Las Vegas following the reveal of the new Chevrolet SS NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race car. After featuring a predominantly black paint scheme for the past two seasons, the No. 29 will shift to the Budweiser Bowtie-can inspired red and white scheme as the primary look in 2013. The red and white scheme originally debuted during the Chase last year to coincide with the debut of the new Budweiser can. "We've been in the fortunate position of having two great looks for the No. 29 Budweiser Chevrolet, both of which have become fan favorites," said Rob McCarthy, vice president, Budweiser. "The Budweiser Bowtie paint scheme brings the iconic Budweiser can to life at-track, and that opportunity coupled with the fans' response made the transition an easy decision." Introduced in August 2011, the current can design is Budweiser's 12th since 1936 when Anheuser-Busch first began offering its flagship brand in cans. The focal point of the design is Budweiser's iconic bowtie, complemented by the time-honored Budweiser creed and Anheuser-Busch medallion. The same elements are prominent on the new No. 29 Budweiser Chevrolet SS. "We've raced this paint scheme a few times in the past and it is by far the fans' favorite as well as mine," said Harvick, who will race the new No. 29 Budweiser Chevrolet SS for the first time during Budweiser Speedweeks at Daytona International Speedway in February.
